Verse of the Day:

Meet the Pastor, Dr. Greg Fine

Thanks for visiting our church web site. I hope you are able to find the information you are looking for about our church. I am the pastor of this wonderful church family. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When I was about 8 years old I made a commitment that changed not only my life on earth but also my eternity. As an 8 year old boy, I came to understand that I had done things wrong. I was a sinner. I also came to realize that I could never be good enough to deserve going to heaven. I asked Jesus Christ to forgive my sin and fill me with His Holy Spirit so I could become a child of God. I received God's free gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, becoming a Christian.

As a junior in college at the University of Tulsa I felt God calling me to serve Him in full-time ministry. So after graduation from college, I moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. It was while I was in Seminary that I met and later married my wonderful wife, Melanie. After graduating from Southwestern Seminary with a Master's of Divinity we moved to Carthage, Missouri to serve First Baptist Church as Minister of Youth and Administration. God blessed our ministry and our family and both grew during the eleven years we served that great church. Three of our four children were born while we lived in Carthage. I received my Doctor of Ministry Degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992.

In 1994, I accepted the invitation to become the pastor of First Baptist Church here in Higginsville. I began my ministry here in August of that year. Our fourth child was born in October of that same year. I enjoy playing tennis and attending my children's various activities. I have served on the Board of Directors for Missouri Baptist Children's Home for over 8 years. I have also served as President of the Higginsville Ministerial Fellowship and am currently President of the Higginsville United Way. I am also currently serving as the Treasurer for the Higginsville Ministerial Fellowship.

Over the past 12 years we have seen God's hand of blessing upon our church. We continue to see God moving to touch and transform lives. It is exciting to be a part of such a wonderful, loving family of believers. If you are looking for a church home, I hope you will personally visit our church and discover for yourself what a great group of people make up this church family!
